These FAQ sessions are informal, unscripted, PowerPoint-free and open to any and all questions led by the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and the Director of Faculty Affairs; we encourage you to attend if you have questions related to promotion or tenure, faculty titles, faculty development, rules and policies, conflicts of interest, sabbaticals, performance reviews, retirement or any other topic.

Promotion 101 for Clinician-Educators is a one-hour, interactive seminar that is devoted solely to the topic of faculty promotion. Promotion 101 has two critical objectives: first, to help School of Medicine faculty members understand the school’s promotion and tenure standards; and second, to help faculty members document their activities and achievements in teaching, clinical practice, service, research and scholarship.

In this workshop, we will discuss 6 time management strategies: Reserve Tuesdays to write; Make your absence felt; Control your email; Get to “no; Know when to fold ‘em; and Add deadlines to your dreams. Faculty members can use these six strategies to protect a few hours each week --- hours that can be used not only for writing and research, but also for addressing personal and family goals and the other priorities in one's life.
