Research interests for Patients:
My research interests are primarily focused on investigating kidney injury in children after heart surgery. I am currently investigating use of kidney injury biomarkers to predict drug clearance after heart surgery. The specific drug I am currently studying is milrinone, which has been shown to improve heart function after heart surgery, but may accumulate when kidney injury is present

My many clinical interests include taking care of children who are born with or develop heart disease. I manage the children before and after heart surgery

In my spare time, I enjoy triathlons, hiking, skiing and playing with my dogs Harold and Wallace.

Volunteer Activities
I am involved in mission trips through the International Children's Heart Foundation and Surgeons of Hope who provide cardiac surgery and post-operative care.
