Research Interests

I put special emphasis on the long-term follow up of patients born with anorectal malformations. This allows to provide evidence-based information to the parents of children born with these defects, as related to the future functional prognosis and quality of life.

Clinical Interests
I am convinced that pediatric surgery is the most curative of all surgical specialties. Pediatric surgery requires a special temperament, meticulous technique and delicate maneuvers. I love children.

Care Philosophy
I am personally aware of the suffering of the parents of children born with congenital anomalies therefore I dedicate special time and effort to console and reassure the parents of my patients.

Personal Interests
My first son died from a congenital malformation. This represents the most important motivation to practice pediatric surgery. I have special interest in the study of human nature (socio-biology).

Volunteer Activities
I have travelled to over 50 countries giving lecture and operative demonstrations related to colorectal congenital problems.

I have spoken about Surgical Treatment of Anorectal Malformation and Colorectal congenital disorders. Teaching of pediatric surgery. Motivating the young generation of pediatric surgeons.
