Research Interests

My research interests include neonatal neurology, more specifically neonatal seizures and neonatal epilepsy. I am interested in neuro-developmental outcomes after seizures in the neonatal period, including early predictors of outcome and the role of EEG in assisting with prognosis. I am also interested new-onset refractory status epilepticus, specifically febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES). This is a rare condition, although devastating for the children affected, and I hope that through multi-center collaboration we can improve the recognition, treatment, and outcomes for children with FIRES.
