Research Interests

My research interests are focused on the field of epilepsy and include neonatal epilepsy, refractory status epilepticus, and epilepsy surgery. In neonatal neurology, I am interested in neuro-developmental outcomes after seizures in the neonatal period, including early predictors of outcome. I am also interested in new-onset refractory status epilepticus, specifically febrile infection-related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES). This is a rare condition, although devastating for the children affected, and I hope that through multi-center collaboration we can improve the recognition, treatment, and outcomes for children with FIRES.
