Personal Interests
I am a physician-scientist trained in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. I am a cardiologist and intensivist in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. My area of research interest is in coagulation, anti-coagulation, and hemolytic issues faced by children requiring surgery or extra-corporeal support for congenital and acquired cardiac disease. I am the primary investigator on two active protocols addressing these questions at the University of Colorado. This research interest blends into an area of specific clinical interest in the blood-related issues faced by children with critical illness. An early-career goal of mine is to lead a multi-disciplinary consultation group specifically addressing hematologic issues in critically-ill children.
