Clinical Interests
Dr. Benami's primary clinical interests include: mood disorders, substance use disorders and traumatic stress disorders. Special interest areas include: the brain-body connection and promotion of overall health and wellness; building resilience; existential issues; and grief counseling.

Care Philosophy
Dr. Benami is trained as a generalist and has a broad range of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment, which includes work with individuals across the lifespan in outpatient, inpatient, residential and private practice settings. She is well-versed in the provision of individual and group therapy, and has extensive training in psychological assessment. Dr. Benami completed her pre-doctoral internship training at AspenPointe Behavioral Health Services in Colorado Springs, with concentrations in the provision of intensive substance abuse treatment, crisis stabilization, and psychological assessment. Dr. Benami is passionate about inspiring and empowering clients to take an active role in improving their lives. She enjoys working with adults and adolescents, and utilizes an integrative, evidence-based treatment approach that includes: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Existential Therapy. This includes the formation of a genuine and collaborative therapeutic relationship, identification of specific goals, constructive self-exploration, and a focus on building the skills necessary to achieve symptom resolution, increased life satisfaction, and lasting positive outcomes.
