Recognition & Awards

  • Young Investigator Award, American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (2011)
Award is given in recognition of the most outstanding report of original research presented at the annual national meeting. Research was presented at a special plenary session.
  • Outstanding Service and Education, Children's Hospital Colorado Housestaff Association (2011)
This award is given as special recognition by the residents and fellows of the hospital to faculty that are felt to go above and beyond in medical education.

Research Interests

My research interests are focused on the development of new therapies (clinical trials) for children needing a bone marrow transplant. Our group offers a large variety of research opportunities for our patients, but I am particularly interested in new ways to treat relapsed leukemia and using cell therapies for treatment and prevention of complications.

Clinical Interests
I am interested in all areas of pediatric bone marrow transplant, with a particular emphasis on improving the outcomes of children with leukemia and other cancers.

Care Philosophy
My goal is to work with our outstanding team to provide the very best care for children needing a bone marrow transplant, including new, cutting edge research treatments when appropriate. I believe that children are treated along with their family and caregivers, and that the entire medical team must support that goal.

Personal Interests
My outside passions include hiking, playing board games, and making big dinners with my husband and five children.
